Karl Storz Endoscopy

Wellwood Leslie were approached by Karl Storz to investigate options for the expansion of facilities in Dundee to create a distribution hub for medical and veterinary endoscope equipment and additional administrative space for staff involved in the management of operations. Within a constrained site on the Ninewells campus we were able to create a new building linked to their original building which provided the additional space required and enhanced facilities for repair and maintenance and for sterilisation and disinfection of equipment.

A phased approach was taken for the construction of the facility. The new build element was established in phase one allowing operations to continue uninterrupted from the existing building. One completion of the new build aspect of the project, staff were decanted into the new building and the remodelling of the original building was undertaken. Phase 3 of the project is the fit out of the sterilisation unit in the ground floor extension of the new building, which was used temporarily for storage during phase two works.
