The refurbishment and extension of Forrest House, Glasgow will provide a modern facility for residential care.
The new extension is conceived as a simple single storey linear block of bedrooms to the rear of the house and new shared accommodation to the side. All of which is enveloped by a large low pitch zinc roof.
The simple clean lines of frameless glass and a natural stone faced base mediate between old and new constructions as the building is approached from Albert Drive.
To the rear the external walls are finished in a smooth render with windows and screens to the bedrooms framed in European larch with panels of larch cladding concealing opening windows behind shutters.
