City centre flats at Cowcaddens have been given a dramatic new look under the GHA programme of external fabric improvements.
McLean Architects worked closely with Morris & Spottiswood on revitalising this dark brick faced 1960s deck access flatted development.
A light coloured external insulated render scheme was applied to the properties to improve their thermal efficiency.
Existing balconies were glazed-in to create sun spaces and coloured glass curtain wall screens were introduced to signify the new urbanism by breaking up the monotony of the long horizontal access decks and punctuating the roof line.
At night the navy and aqua curved top screens are illuminated the ultra low energy coloured LED lightning.
