The private clients for this project are looking for a contemporary and sustainable new dwelling house in a rural setting on land they currently own.
The project, originally beset with planning restrictions has recently been granted permission on the basis of the house being sited on the ‘footprint’ of earlier farm buildings, and with an aesthetic which harks back to a relevant agricultural language whilst still producing a build for today in hard wearing and low maintenance materials.
The plan, whilst efficient, carefully provides flexible open space and clever use of light in public rooms, as well as maximising the stunning views to the south over open countryside.
